It is really exciting to see this. There is a testing site up that does automatic translations from English to Imbabura Quichua, Quichua to English and Spanish to Quichua. There is also a conference paper on how the Quichua/English translator works floating around on the Internet.

A language pack for Microsoft Office. The link will take you to the main language pack page, where a link to the Quechua specific page can be found. WindowsXP also supports a mixed Peruvian/Bolivian Quechua dialect. For a free open source alternative to Microsoft products, try AbiWord, which should also run on OS X and Linux. Directions for installing AbiWord with a Southern Bolivian local can be found at www.runasimipi.org.

This organization has translated the open source word processor, AbiWord, to Southern Bolivian Quechua. AbiWord will install with this translation automatically available for MS Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Instructions on getting it to work are available at the Runa Simipi site. The have also produced spell checking for the same dialect that can be used with OpenOffice or aspell and ispell.
